Algae, a source of inspiration for new biomaterials

Duration: 30 minutes, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session

The transition of living organisms from the unicellular to the multicellular stage took place a very long time ago in an aquatic environment. The study of the strategies employed for this great leap in the complexification of living organisms has opened up new avenues for the creation and structuring of biomaterials for body repair. This is particularly true of an alga called Volvox, which we will examine in detail in this presentation.
